Cardiac researchers and clinical cardiologists need to know key concepts and terms for measuring and describing the function of the heart. This three-day course in Oslo in April provided a comprehensive review of:

  • Myocardial deformation
  • Tau – the time constant of exponential pressure decay
  • End diastolic pressure volume relation
  • Contractility & end systolic pressure volume relation
  • Preload
  • Afterload
  • Suction and restoring forces
  • Frank-Starling effect
  • Myocardial and ventricular efficiency

The course received great feedback from the attendees. Below are a few pictures from the event.
