More than 100 participants attended the 22nd Annual Norwegian Symposium on Heart Research, hosted by NORHEART in collaboration with ProCardio and the Department of Cardiology, Oslo University Hospital.
The annual symposium was held at Holmenkollen Park Hotel in Oslo on September 19-20, covering the latest news in cardiac research. Invited lecturers represented the impressive field of cardiovascular research in Norway.
During the successful symposium, 33 rapid fire research abstracts were presented by PhD students and early career researchers. A panel of experienced researchers awarded one winner in each abstract category:
Biomarkers and imaging:
Ida Marie Hauge-Iversen: “Early markers of diastolic dysfunction using cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging.”
Inflammation and remodeling:
Margrethe Flesvig Holt: “Exploring Protein Expression in ATTR-CM and Heart Failure: The Role of Inflammation and ECM Remodeling.”
Cardiac function:
Daiana Sedneva-Lugovets “Cytohesins in the heart: their expression and interaction with natriuretic peptides.”
Genetics and arrhythmias:
Pernille Borch: “Results of catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation in elderly patients.”
Exercise and prevention:
Ingrid Viola Lavesson Thulin: “Efficiency and Safety of Point-of-Care High-Sensitivity Troponin testing in the Emergency Department: A Randomized Controlled Trial.”
