Successful NORHEART seminar on Cardiac Metabolism in Tromsø

Last week, 41 researchers from Norway and abroad attended the seminar “Pathways and Regulatory Mechanisms in Metabolism and Mitochondrial Function” at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway.

The lunch-to-lunch seminar focused on mitochondrial function and metabolism. Featured sessions included Mitochondrial Morphology, Function in Pre-clinical Models, Preclinical and Translational Research on Metabolism, with hot topics in the field, such as mitophagy, mitochondrial dynamics, cardioprotective strategies, lactate metabolism, liver-heart communication, and PET/MRI imaging. And of course a tour of the lab!

It was decided that the successful UiT-NORHEART seminar on cardiac metabolism will be held again next year, in May 2026.

We look forward to welcoming NORHEART-members back to Tromsø!
