The Norwegian Health Association has awarded the prestigious 2023 Heart Research Award (Hjerteforskningsprisen) to professor Dan Atar.

Atar He is head of research at the Division of Medicine at Oslo University Hospital and an adjunct professor at the Institute of Clinical Sciences of the University of Oslo. He is also Editor-in-Chief of Cardiology and has held the position as vice president of the European Society of Cardiology Board.

Professor Atar received the prize for his passionate research and professional dedication, as well as his work on new international guidelines for treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The Heart Research Award was presented to him by His Majesty King Harald at a ceremony at The Norwegian Theatre in Oslo on Tuesday April 18, 2023.
