The purpose of this workshop is first of all to create an arena for researchers to meet and share knowledge on current and future research on ischemic heart disease, in NORHEART.
The program is structured to foster discussions on a wide array of research projects and methodologies. These range from epidemiological studies and clinical trials to laboratory investigations, all with the shared objective of identifying new therapeutic targets and advancing translational research.
In essence, the aim of the workshop is to offer a comprehensive and progressive perspective on ischemic heart disease research in NORHEART.

The Female Heart Workshop 2024 is organized at Solstrand Hotel & Bad in Os near Bergen on May 7-8 2024.
The workshop is hosted by the Centre for Research on Cardiac Disease in Women at the University of Bergen and focuses on sex differences in cardiovascular risk and disease. The program includes lectures from key national and international researchers in the fields, and targeted group discussions for PhD fellows.
The aim of the workshop is to create an opportunity for interaction and networking between junior researchers and national and international researchers in the field. PhD students are welcome to submit an abstract to the workshop. Accommodation and the workshop fee will be covered for presenting PhD students, but not travel costs.

Cardiac researchers and clinical cardiologists need to know key concepts and terms for measuring and describing the function of the heart. This three-day course will provide a comprehensive review of the following topics:
The course curriculum will be covered in lectures and practical training by analyzing and performing calculations on previously recorded measurements. The course is aimed at clinical and translational researchers with an interest in cardiac mechanics and hemodynamic theory.

We invite you to join us in Bergen for a state-of-the art course in cardiac imaging in research. The course is highly recommended for all PhD students using cardiac imaging in their research projects; both to increase knowledge within own field, but also to expand the general understanding of imaging in cardiac research.
The course will give in-depth insight on the possibilities offered by echocardiography, CMR and cardiac CT for cardiac research. Participants will learn how to apply these imaging modalities for the assessment of cardiac structure, function, infarction, hypertrophy and fibrosis.
PhD students will learn practical skills in planning, conducting and publishing of imaging studies from national and international experts.
The course will be held in Bergen the 8-10th of May 2023 at Grand Hotel Terminus. There is no course fee for student members of NORHEART, but participants must cover travel and accommodation.
Please be aware that the maximum number of participants is 15. Everyone with an interest in cardiac imaging is therefore encouraged to register as soon as possible. The course is registered for 3 ECTS credits at the University of Bergen (UiB) and is arranged in collaboration between UiB Center for Research on Cardiac Disease in Women and NORHEART.

The main purpose of the Exercise in Medicine Seminar is to discuss recent progress in the use of exercise as medicine. The scientific program includes lectures from invited speakers on dementia prevention, cardiac remodeling, biomarkers of cardiovascular health, and the biology and genetics of exercise as medicine.
This year’s seminar is dedicated to Øyvind Ellingsen (Professor in Cellular Cardiology), who is retiring after a long and interesting career. At his request, the seminar will end with a session on the “Next Frontiers in Exercise as Medicine”.
On the evening of December 14, the social program is extended with a poster and dinner party.
