Course: Cardiovascular Research and Medicine 2018

19 students attended the Introductory Course to Cardiovascular Research and Medicine in Oslo 15–19 October. During this week, the students heard lectures from more than 20 leading scientists in cardiovascular research. After the talks the students had 20–30 minutes to discuss with the lecturers.

Monday covered the role of predisposing factors in relation to ischemic heart disease and heart failure: diabetes, hypertension, genetics and gender. Tuesday was devoted to myocardial infarction and arrhythmias, while the main theme on Wednesday was heart failure. Thursday focused on experimental models in cardiovascular research. On Friday, the students were presented for the Center for Heart Failure Research and NORHEART networks.
